What is Islam? and Who are Muslims?
Islam is a peaceful religion. Islam means obedience to the will of God. Those who follow Islam are called Muslims and they worship Allah. Islam is the second-largest religion in the world and still growing rapidly around the world.
Quran:
Quran is the holy book of Allah which is firstly introduced by the prophet Mohammad Alaisalam. He was the last prophet sent by Allah to guide people. In the Quran, Allah says There is no God except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance. (20:14).
We can learn so many life lessons from the Quran. Quran is the good news as well as a warning to mankind. Believers are those who believe in the day of judgment and do good deeds will enter Paradise (Jannat). And those who don't they will throw into the hellfire.
Prophets:
Who are prophets?
Prophets were sent by Allah to guide how one should live his life. Allah has sent them to different times and places so, they can deliver his message to the people. There were 124000 Prophets sent by Allah in different period. Where Prophet Adam Alaisalam was the first prophet and first human being as well. Mohammad Alaisalam was the last prophet.
Islam practices:
Five pillars of Islam:
• shahada:
Shahada indicates the belief "that there is no God but Allah and Prophet Muhammad Alaisalam is the messenger of Allah.
The believer should believe in Allah and his prophets even without seeing them. He must obey the prophet and his teaching about Islam.
•Salah(prayer):
It is compulsory(fard) for every Muslim. Every Muslim must offer five prayers a day.
Allah says in QURAN,
27:3 who establish prayer and give zakah, and of the hereafter they are certain (in faith) prayer help us to prevent wrongdoing.
The five prayers name as :
Fajar
Duhar
Asar
Maghrib
Eisha
•zakat (charity):
It is an act of obligatory part of a charity. Here Muslims should donate 2.5% part of their wealth to the needy.
•sawm (fasting) :
During the month of Ramadan (it is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar), Muslims required to fast. Muslims do not eat from sunrise to around sunset. There are exceptions for sicks, elderly and pregnant. rest obligatory to fast.
•hajj(pilgrimage):
Hajj is the obligatory religious duty that every Muslim must carry out once in their lifetime. Those who are financially stable and healthy enough.
These practices are mandatory for every Muslim. These five pillars hold you up. If one pillar is broken up you won't be able to a proper Muslim.
The gravest mistake Muslims doing nowadays is not offering salah intentionally or maybe careless.
